Looking back on one the most fascinating bands I have covered at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Heilung

From WikipediA:

Heilung is an experimental folk music band made up of members from Denmark, Norway, and Germany. Their music is based on texts and runic inscriptions from Germanic peoples of the Iron Age, and Viking Age.  Heilung describe their music as "amplified history from early medieval northern Europe". Their music is usually about Germanic deities, The Jqtnar and Valkries. "Heilung" is a German noun meaning “healing” in English.

In 2019 it was announced that Heilung would be touring the U.S. for the very first time. In January 2020 at the Ogden Theater in Denver, Colorado, I had the great pleasure of covering their show. It was the first time I had seen a "runway" stage at the Ogden Theater. The show sold out very quickly. It was an amazing evening. A few days after this show Heilung announced that they would be returning to the U.S. in October of 2020. It was postponed till October 2021. What was so very special about their return was, it was for "one" show only. Looking at the pictures here imagine what it took to bring this show to the U.S. for one show only and with no opener! The venue, Red Rock Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado.

Journey through my pictures and enjoy Heilung live in the video below. The vocals of Maria Franz are magical!

Heilung is returning to Red Rocks Amphitheatre on April 23rd, 2024. My understanding is there are less than 400 tickets left for this show.
