Visions of Atlantis present, ARMADA Over North American tour at the Oriental Theater in Denver, CO April 27th, 2025

I arrived at the Oriental Theater early for the meet and greet with Visions of Atlantis, which was sold out. Their meet & greets are always fun with a four song set and they get everyone involved in the music. I highly recommend their meet & greets!

Starting the night off was Denver’s own, Signs of Tranquility. Their sound has been described as Melodic Metal with a kiss of EDM. They have one album out, Self Titled that was released in 2022. They are currently working on two EP’s of all new music. I had heard the name of the band but had not listened to their music. I was  in for a treat! They started their set with one of their new songs, “Enforcer” which hit YouTube three days ago. An impressive start to a solid set of music. Their new lead singer, Azura Onessa’s vocals were captivating and powerful, backed by well refined musicians. Throughout their set, they mixed in new songs as well as songs from their first album. The crowd was really into them by the way they reacted after each song. Check out their set list below. Signs of Tranquility finished their set with, “All Against Me” from their album and the audience showed their appreciation for a great set of music. I truly hope they get on a nationwide tour. I know they would do very well.  When I said, I was in for a treat, it was way more than that, a new band and new music for my ears! Thank you!

Next up was Seraina Telli who was the former vocalist of the band, Burning Witches before going solo. With three albums behind her, she is touring in support of her second album from 2023, Addicted to Color. Her sound is more pop/rock, and right from the start, she was very energetic and had the crowd moving with her opening song “Addicted to Color”. It was just a twosome, Seraina on guitar and vocals and her drummer Michael. Throughout her set when she was singing she would be moving, spinning, and jumping. She had plenty of room to do so. Her set was composed of songs from two albums, the aforementioned Addicted to Color and her 2022 album, Simple Talk. She has a strong voice and enough energy to light up the venue, she rarely slowed down and enjoyed interacting with the crowd. She finished off her set with “Modern Warrior” from her 2022 album and a roar from the crowd.

With a stage that looked like it was on a pirate-ship, it was time for the pirates of Visions of Atlantis to take over the stage. As the lights went down the audience cheered and Clémentine Delauney stepped out and under a spotlight started their evening with, “To Those Who Choose to Fight” from their newest album, 2024’s Pirates II Armada.

Her beautiful voice carried through the venue over the quiet crowd, soon the other members made their way on stage as the song was ending and “The Land of the Free” began. The crowd, many of them dressed in pirate outfits, got right into the music pouring out from the stage. It may not have been a packed house but it was a very enthusiastic family of VOA fans! That only adds to a fun concert. The majority of VOA’s setlist was from the last two albums, Pirates and Pirates II - Armada. The fourth song “Heroes of the Dawn”, a favorite of mine, is from their 2019 album, Wanderers. 

What I have always enjoyed about VOA shows (my 5th time) is the high energy from both the stage and the audience. Interactions with the crowd are what makes their shows so much fun to go to. As they were going through their set, Clémentine left the stage and returned with their flag with VOA in large letters on it and she stood on a raiser and waved it back and forth.

Moving into the latter part of the set, Clémentine Delauney stepped to center stage and under a spotlight and with her wonderful voice sang, “Underwater”. The response from the crowd was amazing. As their set was winding down, there was no slowing down from VOA. Finishing their high energy set with “Master the Hurricane” and “Armada”, VOA took their bows from a very appreciative crowd. VOA has two more shows both in Texas then heads for home. It’s always a great pleasure seeing them, safe travels, until next time.
